Mobile outreach
Meeting people where they feel comfortable
Outreach doesn't have to mean a desk, an appointment, or a waiting room. It can mean bringing useful technology to wherever someone already is, at whatever pace works for them.
This is not staffed, in-person outreach, and Williams Compass does not currently offer emergency or immediate-assistance services. It is a set of practical needs technology can help with — some already live in Field Compass today, others still ahead. Each one below is labeled honestly.
Practical needs
Finding community resources
Plain-language questions point toward shelter, food, hygiene, and other services, with intake rules explained.
Vital documents & replacement processes
Help understanding how to access or replace an ID, birth certificate, Social Security card, or other vital document — and what each process actually requires.
Court documents & legal help
Help organizing court-related paperwork and connecting with qualified legal assistance. This is not legal advice, and Williams Compass does not provide legal representation.
Reconnecting with family
Support reconnecting with family or trusted people — only when, and only how, the person wants that help.
Online forms & digital systems
Help navigating online forms and digital systems that assume a stable address, a printer, or reliable internet access — things that aren't always available.
Understanding next steps
Practical, plain-language guides written from lived experience, already available in the app to help explain what's actually available and how it works.
Where this is going
The goal is to keep expanding what Field Compass and Williams Compass can help with, verifying each addition before it's presented as available, and being clear about the difference between what's built and what's still a plan.
